Women in Learning and Leadership was established in 2014 as a student organization at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Since then, the group has made itself well known around campus for their contributions to women empowerment and social justice awareness regarding issues in the metro-Detroit area and beyond. While Take Back the Night stands as the biggest annual event hosted by WILL, other known events including Equal Pay Day and Black History Month social media takeover also showcase the engagement WILL members have with their community.

 

As the org is a co-curricular program, members of the org also partake in leadership workshops and complete 12 credits worth of Women and Gender Studies coursework. The blend of academic knowledge and impassioned immersion in the issues which affect the greater community imparts skills of wisdom and leadership in the members and blazes a trail for all new members to come.
